Business Sprint 2014 seminar trip to China 27.10.-2.11.2014

Hermia Business Development and its subsidiary WITTC (Wuxi China Europe International Technology Transfer Center Ltd) arranged a Business Sprint 2014 match-making seminar trip for a European business delegation to three cities in China between 27.10. and 2.11.2014.

 

Hermia Business Development and its subsidiary WITTC (Wuxi China Europe International Technology Transfer Center Ltd) arranged a Business Sprint 2014 match-making seminar trip for a European business delegation to three cities in China between 27.10. and 2.11.2014.

The group consisted of 28 people (8 from Finland) from 12 countries. The delegation had a strong representation of development companies from several countries that are part of the EBN /EU BIC –network. The EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network) delegation was led by the chairman of the EBN board, Mr. Alvaro Simon De Blas (BIC Euronova Malaga). The group met with potential customers in Yangcheng, Nanjing and Suzhou.

The delegation took part for example in The 3rd China (Jiangsu) International Scientific and Technological Exchange and Talent Intellectual Cooperation Conference –event in Yangcheng, and 2014 China Europe Technology Cooperation & Promotion Forum in Suzhou. The program also consisted of visits to local business and technology centres and to KIA’s car factory, meetings with potential customers and partners, as well as meetings with representatives of the local administration, development and investment companies. Also Member of the Finnish Parliament Mr. Mika Niikko visited Nanjing and brought his greetings to the members of the local administration and the European delegation.

In the end of the trip the management of EBN, WITTC and Hermia Business Development were invited to meet with the representatives of Hebei Province who had travelled to Suzhou for the meeting. They told that there have been decisions made to move all large governmental production plants outside of the capital and to Hebei province. For this development work they are looking for new technologies, products and suppliers and cooperation partners also from the EU. To find a channel to for the new technologies and solutions the province presented their wish to sign a cooperation agreement with the EBN-network.

EBN is an efficient and practical EU wide cooperation network and contact channel. The high appreciation of EBN could be seen in the meetings. EBN is, according to its own strategy, ready to offer its members and their client companies its channels to international markets. After the meetings in Jiangsu, the aim is to get a working cooperation also with Hebei province and its regional organisations. The management of EBN, WITTC and Hermia Business Development will meet in a work seminar in the beginning of December to develop and expand EBN’s China strategy.

All participants of the delegation received several interesting contacts during the trip, thanks to the good preliminary work and arrangements that were done beforehand. These contacts will be negotiated forward case by case and the aim is to generate new cooperation and new business.
